What is PIJ?

PIJ(Private Import Japan) provides a buying proxy service for customers all over the world to purchase items directly from Japan for more than 10 years.
Customers can browse yahoo auction and other websites and we will use our ID to purchase the items on behalf of the customer.
This allows people from around the world to buy items that are often unavailable or very expensive in their home countries.
You can enjoy your shopping on Japanese sites easily.

We are very happy to be able to help you through this service!


What is Yahoo Japan Auction?

Yahoo Japan Auction is the biggest auction site located in Japan.
Other than Japanese speaking people are difficult to use, and most sellers will not ship to people outside of Japan.
However you may get Japanese limited products or very rare Japanese items on Yahoo Japan Auction.
There is a good chance for you to buy what you want more cheaply than eBay or the other sites.


How do I bid on Yahoo Japan Auction?

We, PIJ, make a bid on your behalf, and receive your items at our office then ship them out to you.
You don't need to create your own Yahoo account.
Tell us the details of the auction you want to bid on. We will deal with the seller instead of you!


How do I purchase from Mercari, Rakuten, Amazon JP, and other Japanese online shopping websites?

We, PIJ, make an order on your behalf, and receive your items at our warehouse then ship them out to you.
Register now to PIJ and let us know about the details of what you want to buy!

How to Order

1.Log in to your PIJ account and click the "Shop" tab on PIJ front page.

2. Put some info to let us know what you want and click "Order".

Item URL: Please put the correct URL of the item
Quantity: Put the number you want
Price: Put the price of the item, if auction bidding, put your maximum bidding price.
Note: Tell us some info if it has size, color, etc. or any notice to PIJ. If auction bidding, let us know the bid timming here like Bid now, 2mins before, 6mins before.

3. Your order has been sent to PIJ.


You can search items from Yahoo Japan Auction.

You do not need to make a Yahoo account. You can search as a guest.
You can use like website translation function like using google translate.

If you can't find the word you're looking for or the translation doesn't work, PIJ staff will help you.

View Your Orders

Go to "Order view" to see the current status of your order(s).

    


When you log into PIJ site and go to Order View, it shows the "Checking Order" status by default.

By clicking an appropriate status button, you can view your order(s).
The status that includes your order(s) shows the number of the order(s) on its button.

You can make requests of your payment and shipment at each corresponding status.
(When you select and change status, the content of the display is automatically renewed.
However, if it is not automatically renewed, please click "Search" to renew the information.)

Please refer to the following for the explanation of each status.

1. Checking Order

When you have placed an order to PIJ, your order will appear on this status.
PIJ is checking your order now.

2. Bidding

PIJ has placed a bid on your behalf. Or PIJ has ordered the item to the internet shop.
The auction has not ended at this stage. So your order is not determined yet.

If you cannot win, or the item is sold out at the shop, your order will be cancelled.

3. Won [Awaiting Delivery]

Once you have won the auction or your order has been confirmed with the shop, your order will be moved on this status.
As soon as your order goes to this status, you will be notified by an automatically generated email.
After receiving the notification, please make your 1st payment by clicking the "Paypal" button which will appear at the upper left.
Please tick the box under the "1st Payment" of the item(s) for each line of order, you would like to pay all at once, and then click this "Paypal" button.

The 1st payment includes item price, PIJ commission fees and handling fees.
Please make your 1st payment within 3 days after your order goes to this status.
Once your item has arrived at PIJ after you make 1st payment, your order will go to the next status "Not Shipped".

4. Delivered to PIJ

If your item arrives at PIJ before you make your 1st payment, your order will appear on this status.
Please make your 1st payment by clicking the "Paypal" button.

5. Not Shipped

Your order will be moved on this status when you have made your 1st payment and your item has arrived at PIJ.
Here you can request your shipping.
Please tick the box under the "Shipping Request" of the item(s) you would like us to ship, and then click the "Paypal" button.
Your registered country will appear. Confirm it is correct and click "Next".
Shipping cost will be calculated automatically and several shipping methods will be offered.
Please refer to the characteristics of each shipping method at the International Shipping section.
Then select your preferred shipping method and click the "Paypal" button.

Now you have made your 2nd payment (International shipping), and it means you request the shipment to PIJ.

PIJ will store your item for up to 30 days basically. Please make a shipping request in the period.

6. Arranging Shipment

As soon as your 2nd payment (international shipping) is made, your order will appear on this stage.
PIJ is preparing your shipment.
PIJ will ship your parcel within approximately 2 business days.

7. Shipped

PIJ has shipped out your items. when your shipping method has a tracking number, it will be shown here.

Your order has been completed !
Your items will be delivered to you soon !

Fees
Commission Fee

There is no minimum fee.

Commission Fees are only charged for the item price.

Based on your Member Rank, you are given your monthly Order Limit and Commission Fee rate.
You can check your Commission Fee rate on the Change Registration page.
Your Rank will be upgraded based on the total amount of your monthly purchase.

Here is the chart of Rank, Order Limit and Commission Fee.

    

You are not allowed to order more than your Order Limit within a calendar month.
However, even after you have reached your Order Limit, once you have made your 1st payment, then you are able to order more up to your Order Limit again.

Example: As of May 1st, you are Rank 2 and Order Limit 30000yen.
You are unable to place an order over your Order Limit. (e.g. 32000yen)
If you order a 12000yen item on May 10th and once the order has been determined, the amount you can still order within May becomes 18000yen.
However, once you have paid the 12000yen, you are able to make your orders up to 30000yen again.

*If the item you want to buy exceeds your monthly order limit, please contact us via Contact form. We may consider your situation.

Handling Fee

You will be charged a Handling Fee for each 1 order basically.

This fee includes,
= Flat 500 yen (Packing material cost) + following actual cost (shipping within Japan, bank fees, any tax, charges from the seller to us, etc.)

For example...
1)Handling Fee = Flat 500 yen + shipping within Japan 240yen + bank fees 0yen = 740yen
2)Handling Fee = Flat 500 yen + shipping within Japan 640yen + bank fees 260yen = 1400yen

Only one fee is charged basically for auctions (orders) from the same seller (same shop) on the same day.

However, when the seller does not combine the items, shipping costs within Japan are charged for each item. It depends on the seller’s decision.

Combining Fee

We don’t take the combined fee. It’s FREE service!

PIJ can send your items all in one package.
Combining multiple items into one shipment can be significantly cheaper than shipping each item individually.

Please direct the combined shipping to us when you do the shipping request to us.

International Shipping cost
= The cost of the shipping method which you chose.


Shipping cost will be automatically calculated based on the weight of the items you have requested the shipment.
Please select your shipping method from the provided options.

Depending on the situation of international shipping, it may not be available in your country even if it is listed above.
In that case, PIJ staff will notify you after you settle the shipping fee.

PIJ may have to use DHL or FedEx when your items include some specific items or when it is beyond the range that we can send by EMS or Postal Parcel.
In that case, PIJ will advise you.

DHL or FedEx shipping costs are determined by the larger of the actual weight or the volume weight.
If you need to pay the difference, PIJ will notify you and send you an additional invoice.

In the event of any damage or loss during the shipment, PIJ will help you contact and negotiate the compensation to Japan Post or courier company instead of you. But PIJ is not responsible for it.
PIJ does not compensate for the damage.

What is EMS?

-EMS is the fastest and most reliable international mail service.
-Normally it only takes 3 to 5 days to arrive at your home.
(Depending on the weather and country, it may take longer.)
-You can check current delivery status online with a tracking number.
-In case of damage or loss, the damage will be compensated.

What is Postal Parcel SAL?

-Normally it takes about 2 weeks to arrive at your home.
(Depending on the weather and country, it may take longer.)
-You can check current delivery status online with a tracking number.
-In case of damage or loss, the damage will be compensated up to a certain amount.
-When your package weighs more than 1.5kgs, the postage is cheaper than EMS.

What is Postal Parcel SURFACE (Sea mail)?

-Normally it takes about 2-3 months to arrive at your home.
(Depending on the weather and country, it may take longer.)
-It takes time but this is the cheapest method. Suitable for sending heavy items.
-You can check current delivery status online with a tracking number.
-In case of damage or loss, the damage will be compensated up to a certain amount.

What is REGISTERED SMALL PACKET AIRMAIL(ePacket) ?

-Normally it takes about 1 week to arrive at your home.
(Depending on the weather and country, it may take longer.)
-There is a tracking number.
-In some countries you can chase your packet with the tracking number.
-It covers losses up to 6000yen.
-You can choose when your package size is less than 90cm (length + width + thickness) and weight is less than 2kgs.

What is REGISTERED SMALL PACKET SAL?

-Normally it takes about 2 weeks to arrive at your home.
(Depending on the weather and country, it may take longer.)
-There is a tracking number.
-In some countries you can chase your packet with the tracking number.
-It covers losses up to 6000yen.
-You can choose when your package size is less than 90cm (length + width + thickness) and weight is less than 2kgs.

What is DHL/ FedEx service?

-Normally it takes within 1 week to arrive at your home.
-It is a courier service, not Japan Post.
-DHL or FedEx shipping costs are determined by the larger of the actual weight or the volume weight.
-It's a very fast and reliable service.

Payment
You can pay easily with Paypal.
PIJ will convert the billing amount from Japanese Yen to US Dollar automatically.

Exchange Rate
PIJ sets its own exchange rate taking paypal fees into consideration.
The rate will be updated regularly based on the current rate.

Import Duties
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.
These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item upcharges.
-do not confuse them for additional shipping cost.

If you order the above items, your order will be cancelled.

Storage period
PIJ will keep your goods in our warehouse for up to 30 days basically.
Please request shipping of the items that arrived in the period.

Cancellation
Basically you cannot cancel an order once we have accepted it because we bid or ordered instead of you already.
Please consider enough and place an order with us.

It may be possible to be able to accept cancellation if you have just placed an order and the order has not yet been processed by us. Please inform us by “Contact” form immediately.

Others
-If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about any of our services, please send us a message from " Contact" form to get in touch with us.

-When you did not win an auction or your ordered shop item was out of stock, you will not be charged anything.

-As soon as your order is determined, you can know it by automatic notification. Please pay the 1st payment( item price + commission fee + handling fee) within 3 days.

-PIJ can keep your items at our warehouse up to 30 days. Please make your shipping request within 30 days after placing your order.

-If your items are still located at our warehouse 30 days after purchase, PIJ cannot accept your new order. You need to request a shipment first.

-If a shipping request is not made despite the reminders from PIJ, we may dispose of your items after a certain period of time.

-Please note that PIJ may not have enough time to make a bid after receiving your order due to time difference between your country and Japan.

Nowadays, the internet browser has a translation function as a basic function, you can easily translate not only from Japanese to English but also to your language.

There are many web translation services on the Internet other than those introduced below, so using these functions will be very convenient to enjoy shopping.
Also there are many kinds of free apps for mobile phones.

We recommend you Google chrome with google translate for PC and mobile phone.

We will show you the examples of how to translate Japanese to English ( or to your language).

How much does it cost to use PIJ?

PIJ billing is divided into 2 parts.
Total amount depends on what shipping method you choose and the weight of the package.
Please make your reference by the explanation below.

The total is the total of 1st payment and 2nd payment.

How do I make orders on PIJ?

PIJ has 2 types of order forms; one is specifically for Yahoo Japan Auction,
the other for any Japanese online shops, Mercari, other auctions else.

I want to order something more than my order limit. Is it possible?

If you use PIJ service for the first time, your member rank has 5000yen for the monthly limit.
Your order limit is determined and updated every month.
PIJ system judges depending on your purchase history, so basically you should wait until next month.

However, the account manager might be able to consider your situation.
Please contact us from “ Contact “ form.

I want to cancel my orders on PIJ.

You cannot cancel an order once we have accepted it because we bid or ordered instead of you already.
Please consider enough and place an order with us.

However, it may be possible to be able to accept cancellation if you have just placed an order and the order has not yet been processed by us. Please inform us by “Contact” form immediately.

Why was my order cancelled?

There are some reasons that we cannot get it.
Your order was cancelled if you were out-bidded, out of stock, PIJ cannot treat it because of its size, because of dangerous goods, etc.
We hope you understand.

I haven't received a notification for the 1st payment.

You will receive notification after we finish the deal with the seller.
Please wait for a while.
Also you can check the “Order View” to find out if payment is ready.

How long can PIJ keep my items at the warehouses?

PIJ can keep your items at our warehouse up to 30 days basically.
Please make your shipping request within 30 days after placing your order.

If your items are still located at our warehouse 30 days after purchase,
PIJ cannot accept your new order. You need to request a shipment first.
If a shipping request is not made,
PIJ may dispose of your items after a certain period of time.

But if you have any special reason that you cannot request shipment,
please let us know via “ Contact “ form.

I forgot my password to log in to PIJ.

How does PIJ pack and send my orders?

We use bubble wrapping material, and well pack your items to protect during delivery.

Is it possible to return an item?

As a general rule, items can not be returned or exchanged after ordering or bidding.

I didn't get any email or notification mail from PIJ. But Why?

Some domains may classify our email as spam or even not deliver it.
Please check your spam folder, and if the issue persists please re-register with an email address from a different email service provider.

- Auction

Can I make re-bid for the auctions when I will be out-bidded?

Let us know about it by Contact form.
If you try to place another bid again on the item you have already bid on, an error message will be shown because PIJ system will judge that it may multiple orders for the same auction due to users' mistakes.

But in the case of you would like to place another bid on the item again,
please let us know the order number,
your bid price and bid timing
(Bid Now, 2 minute before, or 6 minutes before)
via "Contact us" form.

We will do our best to correspond it.
However, if the other buyer bid more than your re-bid price, you will be out-bidded again.
Also, we may not be able to make re-bid for it in time if the auction doesn't have enough time.
So please place an order for your maximum price by the first order basically.
And if you would like to bid more, let us know from Contact us form again.

I am bidding for 100 yen for an auction. I can bid up to 1000 yen lastly. Can PIJ bid in steps of 100 yen until it reaches 1000 yen?

Please place an order for your maximum price by the first order.

Automatic bidding system makes bidding convenient
so you don't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time someone places another bid.

Reference - How Automatic Bidding works

When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the item.
The seller and other bidders don't know your maximum bid.
We'll place bids on your behalf using the automatic bid increment amount, which is based on the current high bid.
We'll bid only as much as necessary to make sure that you remain the high bidder,
or to meet the reserve price, up to your maximum amount.
If another bidder places the same maximum bid or higher,
we'll notify you so you can place another bid.
Your maximum bid is kept confidential until it is exceeded by another bidder.

Can I ask something to the seller of the auction because I need some info.

We would like to help you as much as possible.
Please send us the inquiry via " Contact” form.
However, sometimes the seller does not respond to the questioner's inquiry.
Please note that.
We are not able to ask questions about auctions that have ended.

Can you make an offer to the seller to decrease the price?

If the seller is setting the negotiable option,we would like to help you as much as possible.

However, sometimes the seller does not respond to the questioner's inquiry.

Please try to negotiate within the bounds of common sense. Negotiating at too low a price is disliked by sellers.
We are not able to ask questions about auctions that have ended.

Can PIJ ask sellers to make some items bundled?

Yes, PIJ always asks sellers to make your items bundled.
If you get items from the same seller (the same shop) at the moment (on the same day),
the handling fee (includes shipping) will just be charged for a package (some items will be bundled in a package).
However, there are some sellers who don't accept the bundle (the items wouldn't be bundled).
In that case, the shipping cost will be charged for every order.
Please understand it when you see those situations.

I want to know how much the "shipping cost within Japan".

It depends on the seller’s setting.
Basically it’s around 300yen to 2000yen, though it depends on the item's size and weight and the distance from the seller’s living area to our warehouse.
During the dealing with the seller after the auction ends, we know the exact shipping cost that the seller charges.

Are the products sold at the auction authentic?

PIJ does not take responsibility for the authenticity of items.
It is the buyer's responsibility and risk so please choose items and sellers carefully by yourself.

Generally Japanese sellers are very honest and value their feedback.
So there are few terrible sellers.

If you would like PIJ to request further information from the seller,
please send a question from "contact us". We can ask if the seller has receipts for the item or any other information.
Please understand, sometimes Yahoo sellers can not always reply quickly and sometimes do not reply before the auction ends.
We will do our best to assist if there are any problems however it is up to you as the buyer to decide carefully on this type of auction.
After you send a purchase order to PIJ, you can not cancel.

Can you bid on other auction sites?

Yes, of course we can.
However, we can only offer a manual bidding service performed by our shopping staff, rather than the real-time bidding we offer for Yahoo! Auctions.
Please send the order from the “ Shop “ tab on PIJ website.
Put required info to let us know what you want and send it. We will check and try to bid or buy for you.

What is the difference of bid timing between “Bid Now”, “ 2min before” and “ 6 min before”?

It’s about the bid timing.
“Bid Now” is made instantly.
As soon as PIJ staff accept your order, your bid will be done.

If you choose “ 2min before” or“ 6 min before” as a bid timing, your bid will be placed in the last 2 minutes or the 6 mins of the auction.
It will be managed by an auto bidding system.

When you choose “2 min before” or “6 min before” option for bid timing, please be aware that there are several cases where the bid will not be made:
1. Another bidder has placed a bid above your maximum bid
2. Another bidder has placed a bid at same price with you but fast than you.
3. The seller ends the auction early before our bid is placed
4. The seller does not wish to sell to proxy services and cancels our bid

What is 即決価格(Buy it Now)?

For auctions which have a Buy It Now (即決価格) option, if you bid through our service for the Buy It Now price, it will end the auction with you as the winner and highest bidder.

This also means that another bidder can end an auction immediately by purchasing the item at the Buy It Now price if it is available. As such, for popular items it may be a good idea to consider purchasing it at the Buy It Now price, rather than bidding, to ensure that you are able to get it.

What is 早期終了 (Early Termination)?

When creating the auction, if the seller has marked the auction as open for Early Termination (早期終了), it may be possible to end the auction early. Please note that.

What does 最低落札価格 (Reserve Price) mean?

For auctions which have a Reserve Price (最低落札価格) there is a hidden minimum price which must be reached in order to win the item. It is not possible to see this reserve price.
For auctions which have a Reserve Price (最低落札価格), even if you are the highest bidder, if your bid is not over the reserve price, you will not be able to win the item.

What are "junk" items?

"Junk" (ジャンク in Japanese) is how Japanese sellers describe items that are non-functional, badly damaged or in any other way not up to standard. "Junk" is the worst item condition rating, and you should expect any item listed as such to be in poor condition.

Reasons a seller might list an item as "junk" include:
* Item is completely non-functional
* Item functionality has not been checked
* Item is badly damaged
* Item is only suitable to be used for parts
* Item is old and may have unseen damage
* Seller is bundling a lot of items

What sites can I order from?

We can accept orders for most online shopping sites.

Can I order a pre-order item?

Yes, we are able to process orders for pre-order items. Simply place an order for the item through the “ Shop” order tab.
There may be times in which pre-orders are limited to certain quantities. If we cannot get it, there is nothing you should pay.

I don't have a paypal account. Can I pay by credit card?

No problem. When you have a credit card, you can pay through paypal.

- Shipping

Can PIJ combine and ship out my items in a package? I want to save shipping.

Yes we can combine your items in one package.

How to calculate the international shipping cost ?

Shipping cost will be automatically calculated based on the weight of the items you have requested a shipment .

What should I do to decrease the international shipping cost?

Shipping cost will be decided what you choose in the shipping method.
Each shipping method has its own characteristics.
The most reasonable shipping method we handle is surface mail.

International Shipping

I can't choose a Small Packet for my shipping. Why?

Small package has an upper limit for its size and weight.
I can guess your parcel exceeds the size or the weight for the method.
You can choose when your package size is less than 90cm (length + width + thickness) and weight is less than 2kgs.

We basically send your items to the address you have registered on PayPal.

Your package has been returned to Japan due to reasons such as storage expiration.
We will let you know as soon as we receive it.To send it again, you have to pay the shipping cost again.

When I checked the package that arrived, there was damage.

We use bubble wrapping material, and well pack your items to protect during delivery.
However rarely the parcel may be handled roughly during international shipping and the item may be damaged.
If you hope, we will help you as much as possible to negotiate with Japan post or courier company for compensation.

In case of lost, damaged, or completely broken during shipment, you must contact us via “ Contact “ form and provide the information below within 7 days of the package's arrival in order to be compensated.

- Proof of a damage report/claim placed to the post office or delivery company. (e.g. picture or screenshot of your receipt)
- Photos of the package exterior
- Photos of the interior packaging
- Photos showing the state of the damaged item(s) (in the case of damaged or broken items)
- Shipment tracking number
- Order NO of the damaged or missing item(s)
- Basic explanation of the damage to your item(s)

* Please submit the damage report to the post office or delivery company within 7 days of the package's arrival.
* Items that were not reported as damaged, broken, or lost within 7 days of a package's arrival are not eligible for compensation.
* Items that are compensated for damage may be collected by the shipping company.
